Peonare Caka – an RIT/A.U.K success story
October 1, 2015
Peonare Caka graduated from RIT/A.U.K in 2010 as the salutatorian of her graduating class with a concentration on Economics, Statistics and Management and a minor on Public Policy. After that, she was granted an EU scholarship through which she managed to successfully obtain MA Degree in Economics at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest. Being a RIT/A.U.K and CEU alumna, Peonare established a strong fundament for her academic path as a lecturer and instructor.
Given her studies, which are primarily focused in quantitative sciences, she managed to work as a Lecturer for Mathematics for Business at “Globus” College as well as an Instructor for GMAT, Mathematics and Discovery Course through the USAID TLP/AUPP. Furthermore, RIT/A.U.K and CEU have opened many doors for her professionally. She served as a Political Advisor for Economic Analyses to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development and right after that as a Project Manager for two projects at RIT/A.U.K Training and Development Institute: Teach ECDL sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Female in IT sponsored by Enhancing Youth Employment (EYE) Project and USAIDs Empower Private Sector.
When asked about RIT/A.U.K experience Peonare stated: “RIT/A.U.K has been a life-changing experience for me. Having been given the opportunity to work and study at the same time, RIT/A.U.K for four years has equipped me with the key ingredients to developing a multi-dimensional matrix of skills and abilities that serve me to this day, both personally and professionally. To me, of utmost importance from what RIT/A.U.K has offered as an institution, despite the American Degree, is the group work culture that we as students have established throughout our studies. This has been crucial in my professional career by helping me work effectively and efficiently in cooperation with others while simultaneously working on myself.”
Peonare acknowledges RIT/A.U.K contribution to her academic and professional development and due to that she continues to consider RIT/A.U.K as her second home. As she said, “RIT/A.U.K is a great institution to be a part of and anyone who has the will and grit to grab the opportunity can become a part of it and ultimately make the best out of it.”
