Alumna: Vlora Berbatovci – RIT/A.U.K. Class of 2010
It is always a pleasure to write about RIT/A.U.K and how it helped me grow academically and professionally.
RIT/A.U.K has given me the fundamental lessons and the courage to succeed in life. After completing my undergraduate degree at RIT/A.U.K in 2010, the support from RIT/A.U.K professors continued. I was provided with references and motivation when I applied for my postgraduate degree and successfully was accepted. Equipped with very practical knowledge from RIT/A.U.K and confidence, I started my Master degree in Public Administration in London, UK in 2011 where I completed the degree with Distinction.
In the meantime I had the opportunity to work for the London Borough of Redbridge as Project Evaluator for an employment support project. The report writing skills and communication skills gained at RIT/A.U.K had an important impact in my abilities to produce a very highly valued report and deliver a successful presentation in front of the Council Leader and senior representatives of different organizations. Furthermore, the experience of having studied and worked in RIT/A.U.K, has prepared me to work in environments where there are employees of different cultures and nationalities. Hence, I could adapt easily in the UK’s working environment.
From last year (2014), I have been enrolled as PhD candidate at London Metropolitan University, UK and have been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship. My research area is in employment and migration studies with the focus in Kosovo.
Recently I have also worked for one of the biggest national UK charities where I have successfully delivered another evaluation report.
Finally, I feel very lucky to have studied at RIT/A.U.K as it opened many doors for my future career development. RIT/A.U.K has taught me that life with its components can be simple, practical and successful if using the opportunities and working towards achieving goals you love.
I am hoping that in the near future I will be able to come and contribute with my increased skills in the Kosovo’s employment market, potentially RIT/A.U.K.
