Alumni: Ismail Hoxha – RIT/A.U.K. Class of 2014
Ismail Hoxha graduated from RIT/A.U.K in 2014 with concentrations in Management and Public Policy. As a commissioned officer cadet, Hoxha furthered his studies in the United Kingdom. Here, he firstly took a 3 month pre entry course to attend the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). After completion of this course in the UK he was awarded ‘Best Overall Cadet’. Then, Ismaili completed the 12 month commissioning studies offered to officers at RMAS. On completion of his studies with RMAS in 2015 he was awarded the ‘Overseas Sword of Honour’ on December the 11th of that year. The award was presented by HRH Prince Charles of Wales, as Ismali Hoxha was the first officer cadet from the Balkans to be offered this prestigious award.
In addition to the Military and Undergraduate studies Ismail completed, he went on to finish his Post Graduate Studies in Leadership and Conflict Management at Cranfield University. Cranfield University is known to have a diverse campus and here Ismali found himself with fellow students from various universities, such as Oxford University and Sheffield University, successfully completing their studies.
When asked about his experience with RIT/A.U.K Ismail stated, “I believe in an academic education! It is absolutely a component that defines who you are; it is part of your identity, a path to our future. Education has been part of my personal journey in becoming an army officer. It has been the best experience in my life. What I especially enjoyed the most about my time at RIT/A.U.K was that it set the benchmark for my studies in other institutions. As when I completed my post studies at Cranfield I was very comfortable with the content, structure, and expectation there. There is no doubt that RIT/A.U.K gave me the ability and skills in education to submerge, progress and successfully complete my studies.”
