Alumnus: Armend Kelmendi – RIT Kosovo™ (A.U.K) Class of 2012

Armend Kelmendi graduated from RIT Kosovo™ (A.U.K) in 2012 with concentrations in Public Policy and Management, and a minor in International Relations. Shortly after, Armend continued his studies in the Catholic University in Leuven (KUL), Belgium, to successfully complete the Advanced Master’s concentration in New Public Management.
Armend is currently working at the Ministry of European Integration for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. For three years now, Armend has served as a high officer for Political and Administrative Criteria, and is specifically involved in the process of Public Administration Reform. Among other duties, Armend has managed many regional cooperation projects in the field of public administration (PA), quality management in PA (QMPA), cross-border cooperation projects, translation of the Acquis, HRM and communication strategies as well as having served for two years as the Open Regional Fund for South-East Europe – Modernisation of Municipal Services (ORF-MKD) Focal Point for Kosovo, which is a project network that works on implementing western policies into the municipalities in the region. Since April 2016, Armend has been the newly elected President of the European Young Cell Alumni-Kosovo, representing more than 265 post-graduate grantees who have similarly studied in prominent European universities. Moreover, since 2009 Armend has been a board member and project coordinator at the Liberal Institute for Policy Research (LIPR), and a board member of IG Alpbach Kosovo.

This is the institution that helped me prepare for the professional world, assisting me to enhance my communication, network, lobbying, researching, and writing skills in particular. The knowledge and skills gained at RIT Kosovo™ (A.U.K) are the ones I practice when performing my daily tasks at work. RIT Kosovo™ (A.U.K) represents a system of values and an education that consists of professionalism, equity, solidarity, vision, teamwork, and integrity.”
RIT Kosovo™ (A.U.K)’s professional staff, and its advanced Public Policy and Management programs together with the broad extracurricular activities encouraged Armend to evolve academically and develop professionally.
