From being a Swedish Institute scholarship holder to a young entrepreneur in Sweden – an A.U.K alumnae success story
In 2013, Liridona Sopjani graduated from A.U.K as the best student in her professional concentration, Media and Visual Communication. After A.U.K, Ms. Sopjani won the full scholarship from the Swedish Institute to pursue her master studies in Sustainable Development at the prestigious Uppsala University, among the highest ranking universities in Sweden and ranked amongthe top 100 universities worldwide.
Throughout her bachelor studies she was engaged in numerous students’ activities showing success beyond university doors. While a student at A.U.K she worked in the financing sector at Raiffaisen Bank and USAID as a finance assistant. In her last two years of college, she focused more on communication design, where she and her friends founded the small startup – Animate, in the field of visual communication and animation.
Currently, Liridona is in the second year of master studies and working actively with her peers in education for sustainable development. In cooperation with other students from the same program, she has founded an eco-business in Sweden that intends to educate and raise awareness on chemicals found in hygiene products and their impact on human health, animals, and the environment through a service-based platform (see: http://grandmaknowsbest.se/). The concept has gained much interest and support from the public in Uppsala and is spreading among other cities in Sweden as well.
Liridona acknowledges that A.U.K’s strong academic support and motivation has opened many doors as well as encouraged her to aspire bigger dreams. The opportunity given by the Swedish Institute has driven her ambitions to work even harder and pursue an entrepreneurial career in Sweden.
